TRIBECA LOFT

  • Located in a landmarked building in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, a growing family approached us to expand their apartment into the floor above. Originally built in 1890 by the esteemed New York architect Charles Haight, the building exhibited an unusual amount of architectural flourish for a warehouse — tin ceilings inside and a cast iron and terra cotta ornamented facade.

We sought to expose and celebrate the artifacts of the original building while layering in new materials in a complimentary fashion. The result is a texturally complex blend of old and new that creates a warm and inviting space for living.
